My name is Katie Panchyn. I am a student at Molloy College. I am in the Education Program here at Molloy and hope to be a Special Education teacher in the future. This page contains all the work I have accomplished in my first semester in the Education Program.
For this class activity we were asked to make a Prezi dedicated to all about yourself. We were asked to present slides that introduced our family, hobbies, desires and dreams. You were also able to put any other type of information you felt comfortable sharing. The best part of the activity was that we were able to add pictures of everything we wanted to illustrate. This activity would go great within a classroom. Children can make their own Prezi pertaining to their own lives and show it to the classroom. Children usually love to discuss themselves so this could be an entertaining activity for all. The National Education Technology Standards applied to this activity are Creativity and Innovation 1B, Technology Operations Concept 6B ,
For this class activity we were asked to make a parent involved newsletter glogster to help get parents involved with their child's education. It is dedicated to a certain time of the year to advise parents on things that are going on or things to do with their children. This can be used in the classroom setting in a few ways. You can have this monthly to inform parents about their involvement possibility in the classrooms. Also, children can make a glogster about their birthday month perhaps. The NETS standard for this project would be 1A, 3A, 6A, and 6B.
Our class assignment was to create a word cloud on wordle.net. For this assignment I created a world cloud about Dr. Seuss. I think this is a great tool to use for many topics in my elementary class. I will bring word cloud into my classroom during a lesson about sight words. It would be a great usage for the children to learn sight words in a creative way. Another way I would bring word cloud into my classroom is by asking students to create their own word cloud about themselves. They can emphasize the words that describe them most. It is a great way for them to express themselves to others!
